Proverbs 21:31 says, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.” I was reading this verse today and the old saying, ‘hold your horses’ came to mind. Sometimes we would say that when people were impatient and we were telling them to wait. Our verse before us is teaching us that we could prepare for battle but safety is of the LORD. When it comes down to it…we could do all we could to protect ourselves from all the evil of the world but our only safety is of the LORD. There are many people today that are scared about the future and because of such they are stockpiling all kinds of things hoping that when that day comes they will be safe. The LORD is not in need of our help for Him to help protect us. We can get so caught up with all our fears and making all these plans for our future that we fail to trust in the LORD for our safety and protection. The fact is…the Devil could come at us with all his demons and all his people on earth that do his will but if our trust is in the LORD then I’m confident that not one hair of our head shall fall to the ground without the permission of Almighty God. So, hold your horses and quit trusting in your battle plan and trust in the LORD.
