Little Faith – Part 1

Four times in the Gospels Jesus rebukes His disciples for having “little faith.” Let’s think about the first one. In Matthew 6:30, Jesus is rebuking His disciples for worrying about their physical needs. Jesus said, “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” We have little faith when we doubt God’s ability to provide for us our daily needs. Our God was able to create this world simply by the Word of His power, so surely He can supply us our food. The Lord God Almighty was faithful to provide for the Nation of Israel in the wilderness their food and clothing so I’m certain that He can make a way for us. Child of God…worry and anxiety over your physical needs is needless! You have a Heavenly Father that knows you have such needs and He will never forsake you. When we worry over our needs itĀ gets us distracted from the spiritual things. This is why Jesus said later in Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Keep focused on the things of God, for the Lord will provide all your needs.
