Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” There are so many things I could say about marriage today. I’m greatly concerned about the attack on Biblical marriage in our country. Our president (who we need to pray for daily) has done much damage by promoting the homosexual agenda. This is a moral issue that Christians need to stand strong on. God’s word is clear…marriage is between a man and a woman. With that said, we leave those that would defile marriage in the hands of the Lord, for He has promised judgment. However, that judgment is not just for those that would be involved in homosexual sins. This judgment is also for whoremongers and adulterers. This is those that would have sex before marriage and those that would cheat on their spouse. There are many today that are putting up a good front of standing strong against homosexuality while at the same time being involved in sexual activity outside of marriage. This is outside of God’s plan and is against His design for how physical intimacy is to be enjoyed, for the bed is undefiled only when held in the boundary of Biblical marriage. Indeed, God is going to judge all sexual sin. However, for those that desire to repent and turn from their sins, there is forgiveness with God. Paul tells the church at Corinth, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (I Cor. 6:9-11). The church at Corinth had people that had been saved from all different kinds and sorts of sinful lifestyles. That’s the good news….God saves sinners! Oh whom I am the chief. Praise the Lord for teaching me what real joy there can be when you seek to have a marriage after God’s design and for forgiving me of all my sin through faith in the sacrifice of Christ and setting me on the right path.
