Philippians chapter 2 gives a clear view of the mind of Christ. I think most of us would not want others to know what our mind is like. I know my mind is not always the way it should be, but…I want it to be like the mind of Christ. If everyone would learn to think like Jesus this world would be a wonderful place. The Apostle Paul encourages the church at Philippi to be of one mind, to have the mind of Christ. He said this mind of Christ was one that would cause them to do nothing through strife or vainglory (v3). We need to be careful that we don’t do things for our own cause and praise. He further tells them in that verse to esteem others better than themselves. This, he says, is the mind of Christ! Christ, Who is the Son of God! Wow! In verse 4 he goes on to tell them to look not every man on his own things but every man also on the things of others. We live in a world that most seem to only be looking out for themselves. I’m glad Jesus didn’t do this. We are tempted to only care about what we think, what we feel and what we want. Lord, help me to always humble myself and be a servant unto others. Help me to have the mind of Christ. Will this also be your prayer…to have the mind of Christ?
